Understanding Immigration Act 2014

The new Immigration Act 2014 is set to make landlords, health care professionals and bank managers play at being border officials.

The Act will place a burden upon landlords to make assessments of prospective tenants’ nationalities and immigration statuses, which could mean – if caught in that situation – landlords will be actively discriminating against the immigrant population here in the UK. People of a particular immigration status will not be allowed to open bank accounts
